Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 will not render Issue screen tabs correctly if not in IE8 standards compliant mode

      When creating or editing an issue with a screen configuration containing multiple Tabs, selecting any but the default one will result in the contained fields to not display.

      Problem is that JIRA will identify the browser and set the html header element {{<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
      }} putting the client in compatibility mode, all of which will exhibit the faulty behavior.

      Surprisingly, forcing the browser to Browser mode: IE8 and Document mode: IE8 standards (definitions from Internet Explorer debug console) will render the forms correctly
